No it also hurts some people regardless if tense or not. Pit when I tried to make my appointment my gp only considers an evening mon-thur as essential times. They are much too busy with patients at other times!! Like we can't just make an appointment at a time when it would be comfortable with uz I had a bad experience doctor and nurse unable to do it. It was very painful and I almost passed out. Has really put me off . Never had problems previously but last experience was not nice I have to beg the doctors surgery to do mine as I need them annually because of past history, and because I am on immunosuppressant medication due to transplant. Up until about 3 years ago they were happy to do this, but apparently it is too expensive these days! I have always attended my smears, even when I had to have them every 6 months. I had a smear test from aged 22 to 70 every 3 years . Not the best days in my life but I did it .please do it ladies put your mind at rest . All I need now is a vault smear and then no more.. If I hadn’t have had the hysterectomy I’d have kept having them because to me it’s common sense. Pap Tests are part of our annual gynecological check up here in Germany and every woman from the age of 16 is free to attend. And the majority gets it done. It is always done by the doctor and not by a nurse and combined with a short examination of the breast. It is a big deal to many women. Publicly brushing it off as a simple and easy procedure only increases the gap between victims of trauma and the healthcare they need. Had mine about 2 weeks ago, and I was a nervous wreck. Currently in Koh Samui the rain is slowly stopping so has the wind definitely not as bad as the news is making out Nakhon Si Thammarat was the worse place hit but just been a lot of rain here really  My wife's family are from Pak Phanang, her cousin's house had it's roof blown off. I think immigration should be scattered in Canada not always main cities. rowing up in a small Canadian town - within an hour of our country’s capital (Ottawa, NOT Toronto btw) we didn’t have much diversity. I can count on one hand the number of non-white kids I went to school with and everyone spoke English. Now, I’m raising my kids in the same town. They are taught in both official languages as soon as they start school (by choice), they have friends who are from different cultures, with different colours of skin and religions. They learn acceptance. They go to catholic school but when they are in higher grades they will be taught about world religion. I  I now work with many immigrants and first generation Canadians. Some celebrate different holidays and most have accents. Not once have I ever had their religions or “ways” imposed on me. They are respectful of Canadian culture and are quite interested to learn more about it....and we as Canadians show them the same respect. They are still proud of their culture.
