No it also hurts some people regardless if tense or not. Pit when I tried to make my appointment my gp only considers an evening mon-thur as essential times. They are much too busy with patients at other times!! Like we can't just make an appointment at a time when it would be comfortable with uz I had a bad experience doctor and nurse unable to do it. It was very painful and I almost passed out. Has really put me off . Never had problems previously but last experience was not nice I have to beg the doctors surgery to do mine as I need them annually because of past history, and because I am on immunosuppressant medication due to transplant. Up until about 3 years ago they were happy to do this, but apparently it is too expensive these days! I have always attended my smears, even when I had to have them every 6 months. I am due my next one in March and dreading the fight once again to get it done. It stressful enough without all this added to it
